On Friday, June 21, 2024, Josiah White’s hosted their 14th Annual “Teeing Up for Teens” Golf Outing at Etna Acres in Andrews, Ind. The purpose of the event was to raise funds to renovate two blacktop basketball courts used by residential students into more durable sport courts that will be safer, require less maintenance, and last longer. A total of 15 teams participated, and the event raised almost $18,000, including $1,000 in matching funds that will be used to to reach their $44,000 goal.
Several students from Josiah White’s residential program participated in the event by passing out water to players to keep them hydrated throughout the morning. The prizes awarded at the end of play included a gift certificate to Friermood Tire & Alignment in Wabash, an Indiana State Park Annual Entrance pass, and a golf passport for a free round of golf at area golf courses for the winning team.
“Physical activity is important for the health of youth, and we are beyond grateful for this year’s sponsors, participants, volunteers, and in-kind partners for their investments of time and treasure in supporting the resurfacing of our outdoor basketball courts,” said Kristina Nussbaum, Vice President of Advancement. “We are very blessed to have such a remarkable level of support from our community.”
Josiah White’s is grateful to the following businesses and individuals for sponsoring this event: Ambassador Enterprises, Bowen Center, Central Indiana Ethanol, Brandt & Sarah Downing, Stan Downing, Family Optometry, First Farmers Bank & Trust, and Gaylor Electric.
