Josiah White’s is excited to be celebrating 175 years of serving children, teens, and families!
Back in 1850, Josiah White desired to create a place where students could receive a spiritual, academic, and vocational education. What this has looked like within the organization has evolved over time, but these three elements have continued to be a part of the services we have offered throughout our 175-year history.
“Our time on earth is short, and I hope that our service ensures Josiah White’s can keep fulfilling their mission long after I am gone,” said Brandt Downing, Josiah White’s Board President. “If I can play a small part in that mission continuing after my life on earth, that is an incredible legacy to leave behind!”
Today, one way we carry on Josiah White’s legacy is through residential treatment of teens on our Wabash campus. We also create new possibilities for children, teens, and families through family preservation and foster services throughout the state. We are also celebrating 40 years of foster care services in 2025!
“Josiah White’s is an amazing organization that is and has been an essential part of the fabric of Wabash County and Northeast Indiana for 175 years,” said Dave Haist, former Josiah White’s board member. “It has impacted many students through its campus in Wabash, Indiana and throughout Northern Indiana with its foster care programs.”
We are so grateful to our supporters, and most importantly, to God, for sustaining our ministry for the past 175 years, and we look forward to the next 175 to come!
