Josiah White’s Indianapolis office hosted a gala to celebrate 40 years of serving children, teens, and families through the ministry of foster care on Friday, Feb. 7 at Hub & Spoke in Fishers, Indiana.
Foster parents and church partners received awards for their service and partnership and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and desserts from Quality Ingredients Cooking, music from a jazz band trio including Asher Beckey, Jesse Wittman, and Peter Luttrull, and live painting by Haley Vergon, owner of the Lost & Found Collection.
“This event was a special evening to gather together to thank our foster parents for all that they do and highlight our church partners who help us provide support and encouragement to foster families,” said Rachel Reames, Josiah White’s Foster Care Advocate.
While at the gala, Reames said, “I’m reminded of a quote from Mr. Rodgers, he said, ‘When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers, you will always find people who are helping.” – When I look around this room, I see so many helpers. The foster care crisis is dark, but here tonight, I see so much light. In the pitch dark, a single light shines the brightest. You all are a bright light to this world. Thank you for being our helpers, our friends, our community.”
Josiah White’s is grateful to Bender Homes, Kirsh & Kirsh Adoptions and the Moore Family for being event sponsors.
