On Monday, June 12, 2023, Josiah White’s hosted their 13th Annual “Teeing Up for Teens” Golf Outing at Etna Acres in Andrews, Ind. The purpose of the event was to raise funds to renovate a blacktop basketball court used by residential students into a more durable sport court that will be safer, require less maintenance, and last longer. A total of 18 teams participated, and the event raised a total of over $16,000, plus another $1,000 in matching funds that will be used to to reach their $22,000 goal.
Several students from Josiah White’s residential program participated in the event by passing out water to players to keep them hydrated throughout the morning. The prizes awarded at the end of play included a gift certificate to Friermood Tire & Alignment in Wabash, a gift certificate to Auto Laundry in Wabash, a gas gift card, and a golf passport for a free round of golf at area golf courses for the winning team.
“We are so thankful for all those who came out to support improvements in our recreational programs at Josiah White’s!,” said Andy Stout, Director of Donor Relations. “The damp chilly weather didn’t stop our teams from having a great day and by the end the sun came out! We are grateful for all those who sponsored and supported our ministry giving their resources and time to make the event a success!”
