Josiah White’s CEO and President Ron Evans has announced that an official search for the next CEO and President of Josiah White’s has begun. Evans announced that he will step down following the successful transition of this role to his successor, which he anticipates will happen by the end of 2023. In an email to employees, Evans stated, “There are times in life where it becomes clear that it is time to enter the next season. A combination of personal and health factors has contributed to this decision, and we are at peace that God has already prepared a new leader to take this organization to a new level.”
Evans has been the organization’s leader since January 2018. In over five years of Evans serving the organization, Josiah White’s has expanded and upgraded its physical campuses significantly. Achieving programmatic standards of excellence, Josiah White’s is now accredited by the Teaching Family Association (TFA), Council for Accreditation of Residential Facilities (CARF), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and Cognia. A newly added garden center and café provide meaningful work for White’s students, and for the past two years, Josiah White’s was certified one of the Best Christian Workplaces in America by BCWI®.
“On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to thank Ron for his leadership and contributions to Josiah White’s,” said Brandt Downing, President of the Board. “His dedication to the families we serve, our staff, and the community will be greatly missed, and we wish him all the best as he moves to the warmer climate of Alabama.”
Evans commented that he and his wife Jane have made friendships at Josiah White’s that will last an eternity. “We have grown to love the ministry that happens at Josiah White’s as we offer hope and transformation through Christ to children and families,” said Evans. “I am confident that Josiah White’s will continue to thrive under new leadership, and I look forward to seeing its success in the years to come.”
For more than 170 years, Josiah White’s has helped teens and families in crisis, through its accredited and comprehensive continuum of qualified residential treatment, foster care, and family preservation programs.
The Board of Directors has selected JobfitMatters, a national Executive Search firm to conduct the search for the next CEO and expects to conclude the search by the end of 2023. Additional information about JobfitMatters may be found at www.jobfitmatters.com.
