May is National Foster Care Month! Josiah White’s foster care teams throughout the state love to use this month as an opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and support our foster families in special ways! Read on to learn more about what each of our offices are doing this month.
Fort Wayne: Josiah White’s Fort Wayne office also hosted a Foster Parent Night Out to honor their foster parents. Churches in the Fort Wayne community also partnered with Josiah White’s to show support during this special month. Living Grace Community Church reached out to the team to schedule a time to pray with them, and Saint Vincent de Paul Parish invited the team to present to their stewardship committee.
Merrillville: The Merrillville office is preparing to host a party for their foster families later this summer.
Indianapolis & Greenwood: Local churches throughout the Indianapolis area partnered with our Indianapolis and Greenwood offices to send appreciation baskets to all their foster families with current placements.
Wabash: Josiah White’s Wabash office hosted an appreciation event for their foster parents including awards, a barbeque dinner, and games.
South Bend: The South Bend office hosted a Foster Parent Night Out earlier this month. This event provided childcare for our foster parents allowing them a much-needed and well-deserved break. The team also sent letters to each of their licensed homes and sent personalized cookies to all their foster homes with current placements.
National Foster Care Month isn’t over yet! We encourage you to use these ideas as a starting point for what you can do to honor the foster parents in your life as well as continue to bring awareness to the need for foster parents in the state of Indiana!
